Light Festival in Tadasu no Mori by TeamLab is very popular annual event which has been held three times. We never get tired of looking at the forest and egg-shaped objects that change colors one after another. The procession projected on the screen are also very fantastic. It's going to be held till 9/2 in 2019.

Jikkoku-bune boat of Kyoto Fushimi commands the particularly beautiful scene of cherry blossom in spring. What's more, the scenery of the boat going between the cherry blossom raft which appears when they're out of bloom on the water surface, is amazing! I visited Nanzenji Temple, a popular spot for autumn leaves, and Tenju-an Temple, which has two beautiful gardens, in kimono. The autumn leaves in the eastern garden were in full bloom, and it was a magnificent view that you could see forever while sitting on the porch. Another wonderful view that sighs is the autumn leaves in the south garden, which looks like a painting, cut out by the window frame of the Shoin. When I raised my face to buy a ticket at the entrance, I jumped into my eyes first and was fascinated.

Keage Incline has beautiful lush greens in summer. Also, you can see the wonderful scenery every season such as autumn colored leaves and cherry blossoms in spring. For the retro atmosphere, Japanese traditional outfits Kimono and Yukata are excellent with the scenery.

I received the July limited peach art parfait of THE THOUSAND KYOTO. Parfait, which uses two whole fresh peaches, is decorated with a large peach tart on the top, and the eight layers are beautiful and full of volume. It is a dish with outstanding satisfaction.

Montblanc specialty store in Kiyamachi. The Montblanc that comes out of a sea urchin with a custom-made machine is artistic. Its thinness is 1 mm. This store is very popular every day.

Here is not an ordinary Setsubun-kai, people walk around the pagodas of Zen Buddhism and gather the charms of the Seven Deities. There're many people with 'good luck bamboo grass' in their hands at the precinct. The sponsors throw roasted beans (mame-maki) and say 'in with fortune' (huku wa uchi). Although Eikando could be very crowded with many tourists in the season of autumn leaves, you can see around calmly now in the fresh greens for there're fewer visitors. In the precinct of Eikando, you must see the beautifully curved Garyu-ro (Hallway Of Lying Dragon: named after its ceiling which is similar to a dragon's back).

In late March, I went to San'nen Zaka, a famous tourist spot, to see a weeping cherry tree whose blossoms were at their best to see. The blossoms seen from the slope is very impressive, and photographers come constantly even in the midnight. This is a very crowded place, so please have good manners.

In front of its Romon (two-storied gate), there're early-blooming cherry blossom which has origin in this shrine, and lovely lanterns with cherry blossom crests. You must see cherry garden, too! The Kuzuryu Benzaiten Okami, which brings good luck and warding off evil spirits, and the White Snake Stone, which brings luck with money, are enshrined here! There are dragons all over the temple grounds. Since its inception, the unique worship etiquette known as 'Osendo' has been passed down, which involves going around the main shrine nine times clockwise. There are 8 places to bow at Osendo, and the shrine garden is said to be a resting place for Kuzuryu Benzaiten Daijin, and the dragon god will appear from the spring at any moment!

It's one of the three most famous festivals and said to be the oldest one in Kyoto. The parade of Saiou-dai (a queen) and 500 people is fascinating, elegant and gorgeous! It's called 'Aoi (hollyhock) Festival' because of the decorations of hollyhock leaves everywhere of the parade.◎Date: on May 15th every year. The parade leave Kyoto Imperial Garden, pass through Shimogamo Shrine and arrive at Kamigamo Shrine. People in elegant royal dresses march as long as 8km.
