It has won some prizes such as '25 most beautiful libraries in the world'. Inside the library with windows like dots on the white wall, the 2nd and 3rd floor are very open for the stairwells. Chirihama Beach as long as 8 km between Chirihama IC and Imahama IC of 'Noto Satoyama Kaido Sea Road' in Ishikawa. Its the only road in Japan, where we can drive a car on the sandy beach. I like the time during the sun setting to the Sea of Japan.

Started in 717, with a history of 1300 years, Nata-dera Temple has some nationally designated important cultural properties. And this wonderful view around 'Kigan Yusenkyou (strangely shaped rocks and a gorge a wizard living) was read in Matsuo Basho's haiku 'ishiyama no, ishi yori shiroshi, aki no kaze.' (Whiter than rocks of a rock mountain, an autumn wind)

In old time, a man Togoro washed yam here, then he found gold dusts. From such a story, 'a swamp (沢) to wash gold (金)' became 'Kanazawa (金沢). It doesn't run dry under a blazing sun in midsummer and overflow after a long rain. It's a mysterious spring always filled with clear water.

Higashi Chayagai District is the largest one of the three Chayagai Districts in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. There're beautiful houses with traditional wooden fences and red walls. And they're very photogenic with Japanese Kimono! You can also enjoy lunch and cafe at Higashi Chayagai.◎I recommend to use rental kimono shop and walk in Higashi Chayagai in Kimono. I rented kimono at 'Kokoyui' this time.

There's a lingering scent of old times here and there in this representative structure of 'ocha-ya', and you can feel like a time traveling to Edo period. Such an elaborately, gorgeously and dignifiedly made house in Higashi Chaya Machi had been once set as high valuation as Kyoto Gion. Feel the fascinating atmosphere.

One of the three chaya towns in Kanazawa, Kazue-machi chaya town has tasteful stone pavements and Sembon-koushi (wooden lattice windows). As soon as you enter the narrow alley, you can feel like a time travel to Edo Period. It becomes more tasteful in the season of cherry blossoms. You all shouldn't miss the scenery of both together in only spring.

At this restaurant, you can taste both of savory seared surface and sashimi with just enough fat. What's more, additional Rosy Seabass (Nodoguro) makes me satisfied very much.◎Ushioya is an originator of Seared Yellowtail (Buri-no Tataki) in Kanazawa, Japan. They use rare salt made from the sea water of Noto Peninsula, and sear it by hand. Ushioya has its restaurants at Higashi Chayagai and Omi-cho Market.

Morihachi is a long established shop of wagashi, Japanese traditional confectionary. Their cafe opens in an old house at Higashi Chayagai District, Kanazawa. These lovely sweets has excellent sweetness with maccha (green tea), and superb smooth texture, which you can taste the Japanese prominent skills.◎Maccha & Sweets Set 700yen. They offered three different kinds of wagashi when we ordered for three people, what a nice kindness! What's more, coffee or Kaga Boucha (roasted Japanese tea) with Morihachi's sweets.

Toshiie Maeda is the deity of this Oyama Shrine. Shin-mon gate is famous for its novel design with a colorful stained glass. At one time, the god's light had reached far away to the Japan Sea. And, on the top, there's the oldest lightning rod in Japan.

Kenrokuen Garden is a symbolic spot of Kanazawa, which has easy access for the opening of Hokuriku Shinkansen Superexpress. For they often have light-up event in a year, I think it's good to visit during such events. I like especially autumn! I took the first pic in autumn, the second in winter. ◎The bus following a circular route from Kanazawa Station is useful!

The shrine has a matrimony prayer spot named 'Kirei Musubi Dokoro' that is the only one in Japan. And it has many events for good fortunes in marriage throughout a year. Specially, 'Tsuitachi Musubi' held on the first day of every month is very crowded with people from all over Japan.

Kanazawa Castle belonged to Maeda Family, a lord of Kaga, once a strong country described as 'Hyakuman-Goku (one million-goku of rice produced annually). Now, it's opened as Kanazawa Castle Park. Together with Kenrokuen Garden adjoining to the castle, they open for free and extend the opening hours. What's more, you can enjoy night cherry blossom viewing and the garden's illumination.◎Open for free & illumination in 2018: 3/31-4/8, till 21:30 at night.

You can enjoy the cycle of the seasons at Kenroku-en much more than other Japanese Gardens! Spring cherry blossom, summer iris, autumn colored leaves and winter propped pine tree with snow, There're also illumination events in each season.◎Kenroku-en Garden is located in Kanazawa urban district, so you can visit here by bus. Parking lots are available for cars.
