30 minutes by ferry from Ishigaki Island, if you can see the pure white Shirahama shining in the place where the color of the sea changes, it is a phantom island. This island, which can only be reached by boat, has a beautiful view of the sea and blue sky. It is also a snorkeling spot.

Yonaha Maehama Beach was soooooo beautiful that I satisfied of its name 'the most beautiful beach in the Orient'. I could enjoyed all day long with some activities such as banana-boat! Also, many corals and shells were on the beach, so I enjoyed picking them up.

Japan's southernmost island, Hateruma has less light obstacle, so it's suitable for stellar observation! You can see the thick part of the Milky Way, that is to say the center of the Galaxy, much better than those in Honshu region. If the season is good, you can see the Southern Cross, too!◎To Hateruma Island, access by ferry. Bring medicine for motion sickness by yourselves. Stellar Observation Tower's party is good (you need a car). The lights of the Milky Way is slight, you may not be able to see like the first pic. Remember, the Milky Way is seen at the left of the Scorpion. I took these pics near the southernmost stone monument, but be careful no to lose your way because there's no signs!

I can say only 'impressive' as to the scenery from the hill. Kaho Banda is a little known spiritual power spot located in the site of salt factory Nuchiuna. If you drive through Mid-Sea Road, please visit here, too.

It is difficult to visit here without guide. Roots of Indian laurel dangle and sunbeams come through the leaves in the sanctuary cave. And you should worship before entering because it is a spiritual place and was also a air‐raid shelter.

Yonaha Maehama Beach is admired as the best one in the Orient for the impressively beautiful sea and white sands. You can stay leisurely under the beach parasol, swimming in the sea, and also personal water craft! What's more, driving on Kurima Ohashi Bridge with the ocean view!◎Car rental is better. Or, take bus from Hirara to Uechiminami bus stop, then 15 min walk.

Hatoma-jima Island is famous as a location of Japanese TV series 'Ruri-no Shima (Sapphire Island), and has beautiful sea around it. I was very moved with much more beautiful sea than that of other islands of Okinawa.◎Hatoma Island is small that you can walk around. There're no remarkable tourist spots, you can enjoy the slow island time leisurely.
