Hikone Castle is a popular cherry blossom spot in Shiga. When the blossoms begin to fall, many rafts of petals appear on the moat and make the cherry blossom reflections more beautiful. Great Torii Arch Of Kumano Hongu Taisha Shrine is the largest torii in Japan, and it's 34 meters high and 42 meters wide, which is really big as we see it actually. Otaimatsu' had originally divined the good or bad harvest of rice. 7 meters tall three torches come into flames and lighten the spring night sky. You can see it so close as to be showered with sparks!◎Otaimatsu' is held on 3/15 every year and starts around 20:00. On the same day, 'Nehan-e' (15:00~) and 'Saga Dainenbutsu-kyogen' (15:30~) are also carried out. You can see them for free.

Anou Plum Garden has been well known as a great spot in even Nara Prefecture, and there're as many as 20 thousand plum trees covering from the foot to the middle of the hills. They take water into the rice fields from around the Golden Week Holidays ( from the late April to the early May). For the sun sets just the same direction as the rice fields in this season, you can see the beautiful landscape from the top of Mt. Kojin.

There're proudly blooming Hirado Azalea in front of our eyes. ◎You can check the best season of azalea in HP. Parking area is available, but for a little cars. For the hiking road, there're some rough. I think the comfortable shoes or trekking shoes are better for you.
