Matabē Zakura has become famous since it used in NHK's TV series. It's a weeping cherry blossom tree as tall as over 10 meters! What's more, can you believe that the tree is 300 years old! As many as 1,000 weeping cherry trees are in bloom at Mt. Takami in Higashiyoshino, Nara. A minibus will take you to the top of the mountain. If you take a breathless climb up the long stairs to the observatory at the top, you will see a magnificent weeping cherry tree in front of you.
