Iwakuni-jo Castle, one of the 100 best castles in Japan, stands on a 200-meter mountain and has Nishiki River, which Kintai-kyo Bridge across, as a natural outer moat. The view from the castle tower is really great and unique for a mountain castle. Kintai-kyo Bridge, a castle town, and in the distance, Miyajima, islands of Seto Inland Sea and Shikoku, you can overlook from here.
The beautiful blue of the sea and the sky makes me exclaim something instinctively. There're Motonosumi Inari Shrine famous for numerous torii arches, and fashionable cafes near here, so I wanted to stay here more.

Higashiushirobata ride field is selected as one of the 100 most beautiful terraced rice fields in Japan. I like to see it specially at dusk in May or June. Many photographers get together to take pictures of the setting sun reflected on the whole paddy fields. After the sun set, you can also see the glittering fire on boats to lure fish.

Hagi Castle, one of the elements of a world heritage: Sites of Japan’s Meiji Industrial Revolution, has harvest of summer orange from the mid April to June. You can enjoy walking around Kikuya Yokocho Street and Horiuchi Area in the fragrance of summer orange.◎The address I posted is Kikuya Yokocho Street in the first pic though, you can enjoy walking and shopping at old town in larger area. The second and third pics are Horiuchi Area. As for access, you can use the bus following a circular route from JR Hagi Station. By your own car, the parking area is available.

A superb view point where you can see the Kanmon Strait immediately after climbing the slope from the parking lot. The view from the mountaintop parking lot is already superb. A night view of 10 million dollars registered as a Japanese night view heritage. Cherry blossoms, azaleas and tulips bloom beautifully in spring. There are playsets. Ideal for historical exploration.
