The beautiful blue of the sea and the sky makes me exclaim something instinctively. There're Motonosumi Inari Shrine famous for numerous torii arches, and fashionable cafes near here, so I wanted to stay here more.

Beppu-itsukushima Shrine is a small shrine located at the center of great nature of Yamaguchi. There're many huge trees in the precinct and some of them designated as a city natural monument. In late autumn, the ginkgo leaves dye it yellow and make a wonderful scenery.

Kintai-kyo Bridge, one of the three greatest bridges in Japan, has the wonderful five arches! You can see the elaborately combined woods very close on the reverse, which makes you moved by its beautiful figure and high skills. And you can see the Iwakuni Castle on the far mountain top, and feel the history and atmosphere of a castle town.◎Entrance fee: Kintai-kyo Round Ticket 300yen, Kintai-kyo, Ropeway, Iwaguni Castle 940yen

A superb view point where you can see the Kanmon Strait immediately after climbing the slope from the parking lot. The view from the mountaintop parking lot is already superb. A night view of 10 million dollars registered as a Japanese night view heritage. Cherry blossoms, azaleas and tulips bloom beautifully in spring. There are playsets. Ideal for historical exploration.

Iwakuni-jo Castle, one of the 100 best castles in Japan, stands on a 200-meter mountain and has Nishiki River, which Kintai-kyo Bridge across, as a natural outer moat. The view from the castle tower is really great and unique for a mountain castle. Kintai-kyo Bridge, a castle town, and in the distance, Miyajima, islands of Seto Inland Sea and Shikoku, you can overlook from here.

Talking of the local specialty in Yamaguchi Prefecture, you must eat Kawara-soba Noodle that grilled on Kawara tile! 'Takase' is one of famous restaurants, and their Kawara-soba, finishes to cook on the tile and has a little crispy feeling with savory smell, is very delicious. What's more, the second specialty, Unameshi is tasty, too. ◎They has a parking area. From Kawadana Onsen Station, you can walk or take bus.

The torafugu (tiger puffer) sashimi of the Shimonoseki with green onion and secret sauce is superb, that is clear for seeing the plate and chewy.

This parfait has as many as one-pack of strawberries that are freshly picked, and as tall as 30 centimeters. Each strawberry is 5 or 6 centimeters and has good sweetness. Hagi Castle, one of the elements of a world heritage: Sites of Japan’s Meiji Industrial Revolution, has harvest of summer orange from the mid April to June. You can enjoy walking around Kikuya Yokocho Street and Horiuchi Area in the fragrance of summer orange.◎The address I posted is Kikuya Yokocho Street in the first pic though, you can enjoy walking and shopping at old town in larger area. The second and third pics are Horiuchi Area. As for access, you can use the bus following a circular route from JR Hagi Station. By your own car, the parking area is available.

Akiyoshidai is a large plateau of limestone, designated as a special natural monument and a national park. The scenery from the observatory is amazing! We can see various landscape in each season.

Seto Inland Sea and Japan Sea marge here, the tide is so fast that the cruise was like a roller coaster. It is only 10 minutes cruise but the scenery of Kanmon Bridge and the port town are nice.

Higashiushirobata ride field is selected as one of the 100 most beautiful terraced rice fields in Japan. I like to see it specially at dusk in May or June. Many photographers get together to take pictures of the setting sun reflected on the whole paddy fields. After the sun set, you can also see the glittering fire on boats to lure fish.

I went there in midwinter though, the inside of the cave was so warm that I walked without jacket. The cave was very spacious and I could enjoy looking around enough.
