Open: 10:00~19:00, no regular holidays.

Fluffy shaved ice of Houseki-bako, makes me want to eat even in winter. This picture is their 'Nara Ichigo Gouri' with so many strawberries.

Miyake Kyu-Kōnoike Tei Omoya

3 Reviews

A cafe located in a renovated mansion of a wealthy merchant from the Edo period. The weeping cherry blossoms in the courtyard were beautiful! There is a bamboo forest from inside the store. And I found a parfait that was so cost-effective! Cherry Blossom Parfait 955 yen *excluding tax. In this age of soaring prices, parfaits are now in the 3,000 yen range, and prices have not gone up! But ordering is done by reading a QR code!

Impressive atmosphere of brick building. It was built more than 100 years ago, and it's the only one existing among 'five great prisons in Meiji Period'. It was used actually up to a few months ago, and will leave the old and good parts to be used for a historical hall from now on.◎Rebuilt for quake-proof engineering, it will become a hotel and historical hall around 2020. You can't enter the building, but only the gate and wall are impressive!
