It used to be a flourishing place for mining silver, and recently it is a popular hot spring resort where you can enjoy the old townscape. I was impressed by the beautiful cityscape more than I expected. Even if you don't stay, the car park is located about 5 minutes walk from the old town.

A main road with more than 30 houses of thatched roof is an important traffic point that connects Aizu and Nikko. You can look inside the biggest post station, eat a specialty 'Negi-soba noodle' and so on. Why don't you walk around the historical calm town surrounded by mountains?◎Events: February snow festival, July summer festival, September water spray (for an emergency drill) and so on. Access: Yunokami Onsen Sta. of Aizu Railway

I recommend the place called Shidaikan Soukan as a scenic spot. When you go there, you have to walk mountain trails for approximately 20 minutes. But the great view is worth visiting. If you see it, your tiredness disappears soon.

You can have a whole view of Sapporo City as one of Japan's New Three Best Night Views, from the observatory located at an altitude of 307meters of Mt. Okura. The night view from Mt. Moiwa is more famous though, Mt.Okura has an original angle, so I like it!◎The observatory of Mt. Okura is closed by evening, but sometimes they open longer. You need to go up to the top by ski lifts, so don’t forget winter clothes.

Britain exists in Fukushima! It's a destination to experience British culture, and staffs and buildings are all British. Ordinary people can look inside, stay and use the facility. I was totally fascinated by the beautiful buildings and staffs… It naturally makes us want to speak in English!◎null
