HIDA FOLK VILLAGE, HIDA NO SATO

1 Reviews

A museum that condenses and reproduces the old village of Hida Takayama. The winter illuminations is held from the middle of January to the end of February. The illuminations light gently the snow lying on the pond and houses, waterdrops of icicles and trees shine like crystals. The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful.

Shirakawago

The tickets are sold out in a few minutes and tourists come from all over the world. It is one of the representative winter event in Japan. Living World Heritage where the villagers live is enveloped in lights.

Sogi Park

5 Reviews

You can see lively three colors of autumn leaves in the daytime, but, you must see the night light-up when you visit Sogi Park! There're eight ponds in the park, and each of them has different scenery of upside-down maple trees. Specialty, many people got together at the pond just near the entrance.◎Light-up from November 9th to 18th in 2018. Some time periods prohibit the use of tripod, so please have good manners and enjoy taking pictures.

Shirakawa Village is a heavy snowfall area, but it snowed not so much for us to visit here this winter. And we can enjoy the snowy landscape as much as we want! It will snow more during February, so you're still in time to see this scenery.

From Tenshukaku Observatory, you can have a stunning view of Shirakawago like you see in a travel brochures. I felt deep emotion that I could come to a world heritage 'Shirakawago' in front of this breathtaking scenery. You must visit this observatory if you come to Shirakawago though it's not so large observatory.◎Though you find a long line of people to wait a shuttle bus to the observatory, you can ride it sooner than you expect because many people can take one bus at once. Some guidebooks say it takes 30 min walk to the observatory, but the local people told us it's not good to walk in winter because we may happen to meet the snow falling down on the way to the observatory.
