I introduce 'a weeping cherry tree in the battle site' in Fukushima, a Mecca of cherry trees standing alone. In this area, Miharu-taki cherry is famous though, its grandchild is this weeping cherry. I want you to visit here after seeing Miharu-taki cherry. Here's said to be a battle site of the old sanurais.

Access:10min by car from Iwaki Yumoto IC. By bus, 15min from JR Yumoto Station of Joban Line to Nishigo, then walk 15min.

Because there're no ropes or anything to restrain people's entry, you can look up the cherry blossoms just under the tree.

There are many samurai residences extant in Kakunodate, the east of Akita. In each house, fine trees are planted and surround the area with fresh green in the beginning of summer.

Access:By car, 60 min from Asahikawa Takasu IC. 3.5 km from JR Bibaushi Station.

The scenery makes me feel spring in Biei, Hokkaido. I like the evening time specially. When you drive a car along the hill, you can see various forms of plastic sheet reflected by the setting sun.

When I visited here, the moss pink and tulip are in full-bloom, and many people enjoyed taking pictures with smiles. It's happy for us to be able to use rest areas in every places, and also free to bring lunches by ourselves.◎Opening hours: April to July & September 9:00-17:00. October, November & March 9:00-16:00. Entrance Fee: Adults 300 or 500 yen, 6-12 years old 100 yen, under 6 years old free.

Access:20 min walk from JR Kakunodate Station. By car, 40 min from Omagari IC.

Called as a little Kyoto, Kakunodate in Akita Prefecture has welcomed the blooming season of cherry blossoms. They are proudly blooming at Hinokinaigawa Bank as long as 2 kilometers, and Samurai House Street, that are selected as one of the 100 best cherry blossom places in Japan.◎Sakura Festival 4/20-5/5 in 2018.

Access:20 min walk from JR Kitakami Station. By bus, 15 min from JR Kitakami Station to Tenshochi. By car, 15 min from Kitakami Eduriko IC, or 15 min from Kitakami Kanegasaki IC.

Kitakami Tenshochi Park is famous as one of the three greatest cherry blossom spots in Michinoku area. All of the cherry blossom trees have fine thick trunks! From the carriage, outside the tunnel, top of the hill, on the boat, and various places you can enjoy seeing the cherry blossoms.◎You can walk from Kitakami Station, and use shuttle bus or boat, so it has an easy access without cars. Though there're parking area, it's heavily backed up.

A cherry blossom tree standing dignifiedly alone in majestic nature. This tree moved me the most among the cherry blossom trees I've ever seen. The snow on Mt. Iwate looks like a fish face to the top, it's called 'Carp Streamer (Koi-nobori). ◎Though the HP says the best season is the mid May, I took this pic on May 5th in 2018 when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. For they becomes out of bloom quickly after their best, I recommend you to go as early as you can.

For it's popular cherry blossom spot, more and more cars get together as the time becomes near noon. To access here, cars are most convenient, and you can park the roadside. The extra bus are available from Shizunai Station.

Nakajima Park is located inside the walkable area from Susukino, and well known as a refreshing place with rich green and water. It has various flowers in each season, and specially, cherry blossom in spring. They color the spring in Sapporo beautifully.◎Nakajima Park has many places to see such as a Japanese garden and Houhei-kan (western style house). One of the 100 best urban parks in Japan, the 100 best historical park in Japan. June 14th-16th: Hokkaido Jingu Festival (Sapporo Matsuri). Access: 10 min walk from Susukino. Nakajima-koen Station of Namboku (South-North) Subway Line.

The private garden is opened through the kind offices of Mishima Family. From the end of May to the early June is the best season to see, the colorful pink moss and yellow canola flowers bloom beautifully in the large garden. There're a few parking lots, please enjoy with good manner.
