Ryugaeshi-no Taki Waterfall

1 Reviews

Though a famous waterfall in Karuizawa is Shiraito, there's a little known one in its downstream. The contrast of white falling in the fresh green was very beautiful. When I visited here, the lights of the sun through the leaves make the fall more beautiful.◎Access: going from the old Karuizawa Ginza Street to the old Mikasa Hotel, you can find Mikasa Gate of Shiraito Highland Way. One way for 400 yen, and round trip for 600 yen.

Nagakura Park

1 Reviews

A little-known spot in Karuizawa, where every place is crowded during the fall foliage season. Nagakura Park, which is about a 10-minute walk from Naka-Karuizawa Station, is a spot known only to those in the know, so there are almost no people, so you can enjoy autumn leaves photos to your heart's content. The nearby Shirakawa River and autumn leaves are also recommended.

Kumano Kotai Shrine

Located on the top of Usui Touge Pass, a scenic shrine with rich nature. The precinct is on a border of Nagano and Gumma Prefectures. Let's visit this historical shrine with peaceful minds, and stride the border.◎Access: 40 min by car from Usui-karuizawa IC of Joshin'etsu Speed Way

Restaurants

RK Garden

2 Reviews

RK Garden is an adjoining open-air cafe at a flower shop in Oiwake, Karuizawa. We can enjoy vegan food and sweets in a relaxing room surrounding with flowers and plants. What's more, in the season of rose, we can feel like to be in an English garden!

Cafe Forest Vale

We can eat delicious breakfast of homemade bread in the woods in Karuizawa, while we feel the change of seasons. I could enjoy spicy carrot cake on this day.

Furiko Sabō

1 Reviews

Furiko Sabō is a cafe standing in the quiet woods in Karuizawa. As the name of Furiko Sabō (Pendulum Cafe), there's a pendulum clock, and it ticks away the minutes in the quiet room. A gentle and reticent owner offers only homemade sweets and drinks, but we can feel the time passing slowly and relaxed like being in the different world.

This hotel was built in 1982 in Kyukaruizawa. In the winter, you can eat marshmallows by the fireplace, and it is warm and homely.

I wanna see and spread myself forever on the beautiful green garden. If the weather is good, it will heal you better.

THE HIRAMATSU Karuizawa Miyota

The Grand Auberge was born in March 2021. A comfortable room with a hot spring with a sky view and French cuisine that makes use of local ingredients will keep you excited.

The lanterns and trees that blend into the woods are romantic, and the atmosphere is like Christmas in Europe. There are also events on weekends and Christmas (reservations required for event dates),
