150 Years Old Great Wisteria To See Both In Daytime And Night-timeAshikaga Flower Park
The best thing of Ashikaga Flower Park is this Great Wisteria. It was transplanted by the first Japanese woman tree doctor, thought to be over 150 years old, and spreads over a 600-tatami area! What's more, the wisteria flowers are beautifully lit up at night. Though you can't visit during the best season of the Great Wisteria, you can enjoy the pale pink, white and yellow ones.◎Ashikaga Flower Park Station, the new station of JR Ryomo Line, opened in 2018, and it takes 1 min on foot to the park. Parking area is also available.
Wisteria Flowers at Ashikaga Flower ParkAshikaga Flower Park
There were five types of wisteria in Ashikaga Flower Park: Ofuji, Ohnagafuji, Yaefuji, Shirafuji, and Light Red Wisteria. All of them are in full bloom, and the wisteria is lit up in the night part, making it look different from the daytime. I was able to spend time slowly because I could enter from day to night.

I went to "Ashikaga Flower Park" in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture. The wisteria was in full bloom, and I was able to take pictures near the wisteria. Purple wisteria is pretty and beautiful and I love it.
Wisteria in Full Bloom Reflected on the Surface of the WaterAshikaga Flower Park
Ohnagafuji was in full bloom near the west gate of Ashikaga Flower Park. Wisteria and azaleas were reflected on the surface of the pond, which was very mysterious. Many flowers were in bloom in the park, and the nice scent of the flowers was soothing.
The Largest Illumination In Eastern JapanAshikaga Flower Park
It's large anyway, we can't see all of them in one time! It's also identified as one of the three largest illuminations in Japan. At some popular spots, people wait in a long line to take pictures.
Illumination Of Flower GardenAshikaga Flower Park
Now is a good time to visit Ashikaga Flower Park, because it passed the peak of busiest December. You can look the illuminations leisurely, and early spring flowers such as Botan (peony) and Rōbai (Chimonanthus praecox) are beautifully decorated with illuminations.
