Access:20 min walk from JR Saga Balloon Station. By car or taxi, 20 min from Saga Station, 30 min from Saga Airport.

Around 100 colorful hot air balloons starting to expand at the dry riverbed in the morning glow. Then, they rise to the autumn sky above the Saga Plain. Its scenery is very impressive!

There're many lanterns all around the town and stalls of Chinese snacks at Nagasaki Lantern Festival. Many tourists come to see this event from all over Japan. It's held during Chinese New Year, from 2/5 to 2/19 in 2019. The lanterns are lighted from 17:00 to 22:00.

Around a important cultural asset's playhouse 'Yachiyo-za', Hyakka Hyakusai is a festival with warm-lighted lanterns. It gets very crowded with tourists, so make your baggage as small as you can. After walking around, it's nice to take Yamagashi Onsen and warm your body. It's held on every Friday ans Saturday of February.

There is a parking lot, only stairs. There are wind chimes in front of the main hall and near the water. You can also take cute pictures with a heart frame and a huge 5 yen object. A sitting statue of Kobo Daishi, about 3 meters long, is enshrined in the hall and has an overwhelming presence. This year, the wind chime festival will be extended until the beginning of October !! It will be lit up in September (the time is undecided).

Misoji-en Garden is as large as 26400 square meters, and its light-up at night is very beautiful. The whole site dye in red, and a fantastic garden appears in the woods. Glover Garden was registered as a world heritage in 2015. In Christmas season, it's lit up and has different atmosphere than usual! You can see the night Nagasaki city illumination.◎Parking area is available near here. But its better for you to go to Oura Tenshu-dou Shita Station, then walk to Glover Garden. I took these photos in 2012, it has become more gorgeous now for such as projection mapping.

The 300-year-old wisteria trees at Nakayama Kumano Shrine cover the entire surface, and it is a spectacular view. It is lit up at night and has a fantastic view.

Munakata Taisha Nakatsu Shrine is located at Oshima Island, and one of the elements of a world heritage 'Sacred Island of Okinoshima and Associated Sites in the Munakata Region'. It's said to be a birth place of Star Festival legend in Japan, and during the festival, people are fascinated with the fantastic atmosphere in the precinct illuminated by bamboo lanterns.
