KAYA Cafe

2 Review

Kaya Cafe is an old folk house cafe in Nakazakicho, Osaka where tofu tiramisu is popular. I received a row of cherry blossom trees and strawberry tofu tiramisu. A menu designed for those who couldn't fully enjoy the cherry blossoms and cherry blossom viewing due to the corona. I was able to enjoy spring with a fluffy syrup of healthy tofu tiramisu, plenty of strawberries, chewy shiratama, and cherry blossoms.

Nanami

Nanami is a Japanese style cafe, renovated from an old house. I had a strawberry Mont Blanc on sale only this season. Fresh strawberry, pistachio gelato, milk custard pudding, strawberry sherbet... The pink mont blanc cream looks cute, but it changed into a parfait for grown-ups by the crisp crumble of rock salt! I love it!

Kawata Seikaten, renewed on January 2019, is so popular cafe that we need to reserve seats and sweets. I ate apple pie and tea this time. The cinnamon and clove flavored ice cream added with the apple pie is also delicious. We can buy it to go, but I want you to eat it inside the cafe.

Kissa Minka

Kissa Minka, located at Kita Kamakura, is a good-old cafe with retro atmosphere. Their custard pudding is firmer than other ones and has more egg taste. It has good balance with little bitter caramel. The ice cream also has tender sweetness. I felt relaxed very much for the fresh greens over the window and mild sweets.

As expected, it is a very quaint cafe with an old folk house because it is located in Arashiyama. It was a thatched-roof house with a garden, and this time I had it relaxing under the eaves. The pudding I received was a little hard, with a pudding that suppressed the sweetness with plenty of egg feeling, a caramel with an adult bitterness, and a whipped cream that added a milky feeling and richness. If you combine the three, it will have an exquisite taste.

They leave the good-old things of a traditional house built 80 years ago, and renovated to become like a French country's house. It has very comfortable atmosphere. Their lunch and siphon coffee are good-seller, and my favorite is the sweets with seasonal fruit. They offer sweets from 2:00 in the afternoon, but it depends on whether they can stock or nor, so it's better to reserve before you visit.
