Matsumoto Castle has different appearances in each season. The castle tower is illuminated throughout the year. And a season of cherry blossoms is going to start now. Access: 15 minutes walk from JR Matsumoto Station. Illumination starts after the cherry trees come into blossom.

Kauhiya Sambanchi

1 Reviews

Kauhiya Sambanchi is a cafe renovated from a good-old house at the side lane of a tasteful Nakamachi Street in Matsumoto. Vary calm atmosphere comes out from the deep brown, well-polished pillars and floor. In the jazz played from a record, I love this coffee brewed carefully with fabric filter by the cafe owner.

A retro café put side of Marumo Ryokan where some activists in folkcraft in Taisho Period had often visited. Many folkcrafts with somewhat nostalgia go well with aroma of coffee. I recommend their delicious cakes, and honey toast is popular, too.◎It's nice to visit here together with Matsumoto Castle. The café is often crowded, you should go with enough time.

Matsumoto City has many coffee shops, and it's the one located near the station and you can use at ease! The old way to make Latte and completely antique interior are contrary new for me. Their lunch also can make you satisfying.◎Between Nagano and Matsumoto, Shinshu round trip ticket and Express ticket book (4 pieces) are by far most economical. You can buy both at a ticket machine.
