Nezu Shrine is celebrated as a spiritual power spot in Tokyo, and 6612 square meters Azalea Garden has been its best. The scenery of Senbon Torii (one thousand torii gates standing in a line) located at the both sides of Otome Inari Shrine in the precinct is one of the best things to see here. Azalea Festival is holding till May 6th.◎Opening hours: 9:00-17:30. Entrance fee: 200yen. Access: 5 min walk from Sendagi Station 1st Gate. I entered from North Torii Gate, and went through Senbon Torii, and arrived Azalea Garden. When I left the shrine, Senbon Torii was crowded with many people. As you expect, the early morning is better. Please check HP to find other ways to visit Azalea Garden. You can look the blooming conditions by live camera. I think it's good for you to visit sooner.

The scenery of 500 thousand trees of azalea seen from the observatory is really amazing! What's more, if the weather is good, Kesen'numa City can be also commanded over the azalea. By the way, in the season when the flower condition is good, you can see the deeper red azalea carpet than these pictures!◎To access here, you need a car basically, but on the weekends in best season, Tokusenjo Mountain Bus has service from Kesen'numa Station. Mitsutouge Mountain is known as a commanding spot of grand scenery with Mt. Fuji. At the end of May, three-leaved azalea blooms beautifully. Parking area is available, and also bus from Kawaguchiko Station. For people who want to enjoy mountain climbing, it's nice to start from Mitsutouge Station. By the way, Mt. Fuji in this pic is slightly covered with snow, because it snowed a lot in this year. So there's less snow as usual. The address is Mitsutouge Cottage, and it commands Mt. Fuji and Azalea together.

Mt. Amari has an easy-hiking path able to command Mt. Fuji. You can see the glittering night view at night, and, if conditions permit, the sea of clouds in the morning. What's more, it becomes a flower field in the sky in June. You can see the wonderful colony of azalea!◎You should basically access by car, and walk 20 min on the easy-hiking path from the parking area. Though Mt. Fuji in the fist pic leaves snows, it's because for the heavy snow that year. There're fewer snows every year in this season.
