What is 'Most Beautiful Places'?

When we use 'Most Beautiful Places', it means some unusual places or scenery that can make people moved and impressed because of their beauties.



Hokuryu-cho Himawari-no Sato (Sunflower Field)

A huge hill of 23ha is covered with yellow. The scenery of 1.5 million sunflowers has become topic in Japan. Sunflower Festival is held until 8/20. Please come to the No.1 sunflower field in Japan!


Jyuniko Lake

Juni-ko(twelve ponds) area is walkable around a nature forest and ponds in the World Heritage, Shirakami Mountains. Among all, Aoike's beautiful color of blue is unbelievable. By the way, even today's science can't make clear why Aoike has such a blue color.



You cannot enter around Moto Taki Fall itself, you can enjoy the fantastic atmosphere in its subsoil waterfall.



These fir trees covered with snow and ice have so strange shapes that they're called 'Ice Monster'! On every around February, you can enjoy snow trees, skiing and walking at the top of the mountains in Zao, Yamagata Pref.


Aizu Region

Cherry blossoms in spring, green and blue sky in summer and autumn colored mountains are beautiful of course, but I think the most beautiful season is winter when the snow covers the town and nature and lives cross each other. You can find your favorite Aizu that can be found by only you!



Kanazawa Castle Park

Kanazawa Castle Park adjoining Kenroku-en Garden, a well-known place for cherry blossom. On Ohori-dori Street (between Kenroku-en and Castle Park) and Hasuikemon-dori (a street from Konya-zaka to Mayumi-zaka guchi), the scene of 360 cherry blossom trees, Someiyoshino, are the highlights.



Tojinbo has distinctive columnar joint sticking out to the sea. For it faces to the west, the setting sun is very beautiful! But you must watch your steps, there're no fences!


Historic Villages of Gokayama

Goyakama is an area of a world heritage with Shirakawago. Suganuma area and Ainokura area of Gokayama are smaller than Shirakawago, but there are full of the atmosphere of secret countryside with the mountains standing very close! You can see the peaceful country scene of gassho zukuri architectures (historical thatched steep roof).



Roppongi Hills Sky Deck

Roppongi Hills Sky Deck is the highest open-air observation place in Japan. From the observatory with cool heliport we often see in TV, you can enjoy the scenery of urban sunset that dyes the city orange.


Yushin Valley

It's in the upper reaches of Kurokura River at Nishitanzawa Yamakita cho. The natural beauty weaved of deep green and autumn leaves make us forget the trekking tiredness. To the destination, you go through the hand-dug tunnels and pitch-dark ones, and walk 7km to the Kumaki dam from Kurokura area.


Egawa Coast

In Kisarazu, Egawa Seashore, the scenery of telephone poles standing on the sea makes us feel wonder. Poles and sunset lead to an industrial area. Pease enjoy Japan's marvelous world this winter (๑´ㅂ`๑)


Hitachi Seaside Park

It is the Nemophila Harmony in Hitachi-kaihin park. The scenery looks like a blue carpet and goes well with the blue sky.


Kegon Falls

A charge needed, from the observatory you go down in an elevator, the more powerful waterfall can be seen. The condition is always affected by the weather, I pray for your good luck.


Megane-bashi Bridge

Megane-bashi Bridge is one of the sites of railway between Yokogawa Station of Gunma and Karuizawa Station of Nagano. Surrounded with shining young leaves or mountains of autumn leaves, it has spent a history in harmony with changing seasons.



Megane Iwa Shore

A scenic spot in Niigata Prefecture, Sasagawa Nagare Shore has this huge rock called 'Megane Iwa (Eyeglass Rock)'. It had two holes and named like that, but now it has one. But, the huge rock standing along the shore is dynamic indeed.


Shimoguri-no Sato

A village located at a mountain side with autumn colored trees. This dynamic scenery is called Japanese Tyrol! You can see the whole of it from 'Tenku-no Sato View Point'


Oshino Hakkai (Eight Ponds)

Oshino Hakkai is spring water from Mt.Fuji. The spring water is breathtakingly beautiful as to see the all fish and the bottom of the pond. Here is a place of belief together with Mt.Fuji since the old times, and a precious site for the local people.




Mt.Fuji climbing is restricted within the short term during the year. On the way to its top, you have to experience the hard roads and environment. But, at the end of the journey on the top, the supreme panorama extends as far as the only successful people can see.


Koran Valley

Japanese maples on both side of Tomoe River had been planted since Kanei 11 (1634) in Edo era. Leaves of red, yellow and orange create a beautiful contrast with the sky blue and green conifers.



Shirakawago is the most famous as a village of Gassho Zukuri architectures. In the season of snowfall, you can see the stunning view of these houses from an observatory. ( I took this pisc on Feburary 7th in 2010.) Now, the illumination event is held only for 4 days a year and you need to get numbered ticket.



Shirahige Shrine

Shirohige Shrine stands by the Lake Biwa and is proud of the oldest history in Oumi region. To be surprised, its torii gate stands on the lake! We can see the illuminated torii at night, and the lightened by the rising sun in the early morning.


Enko-ji Temple

Enko-ji Temple was a school for development of education by Ieyasu Tokugawa. A wonderful Japanese garden covered with moss, 'Jyu-gyu no niwa' is like a picture by the temple pillars on all sides. The rich nature gives us a moment of relief.


Yoshino Mountain

Yoshino Mountain is a famous cherry blossom spot in spring, and also its fall foliage in autumn is beautiful. The colored leaves spread to the whole of mountain, and it comes down gradually, so you can enjoy it for a long term. You must see them from Hanayagura Observatory!


Danjo Garan

1000m above the sea level, Koyasan is one of the world heritages in Japan. 'Kompon Daito' is a symbolic pagoda of Koyasan. The vivid vermilion pagoda is as high as 50m, and I was very surprised at its size and beauty.


Katsuoji Temple

Katsuo-ji Temple is the 23th one of Saikoku 33 Temples. It's famous for Daruma Dolls, and also the beautiful fall foliage that cover the whole mountain in autumn. You can see the lovely collaboration of Daruma and autumn colored leaves.


Takeda Castle Remains

Takeda Castle floating on the sea of clouds is really a wonderful view we must see once in our lives! Though you need to climb the mountain to both the Takeda Castle remains and Ritsu'unkyo Valley, the moving scenery will blow your sleepiness and tiredness away! What's more, in summer, you can see the beautiful view like Ghibli movie 'Castle In The Sky' with lush greens.



Bicchu Kokubun-ji Temple

You can't find five-storied pagoda elsewhere in Okayama. Located among the vast rice fields, this pagoda is a symbol of Kibi-ji Road and has Japanese nostalgic scenery. This area is popular for not only walking but also for cycling.


Itsukushima Shrine

A red torii gate in the sunshine is of course nice, but misted Istukushima Shrine has an aura of divinity in midwinter. You can go to the torii gate closer by JR ferry than others.


Motonosumi Inari Shrine

The line of Torii gates standing by the Japan Sea. The clear sea color of Nagato is one of the reason, the torii gates and the sea produce the beautiful scenery.




Mt.Shiude is a popular spot for the whole view of Setouchi. In spring, it gets crowded most in a year. Along the slopes of the mountain, numberless cherry trees are in full bloom proudly. And with the panorama of Setouchi, I want to burn the scenery into my eyes!


Iya Kazura Bridge

At Iya in Tokushima, Kazura Bridge is one of the three most curious bridges in Japan. The bridge is made from hardy kiwi. You can enjoy the thrills of creaking and swinging of the bridge and nice view of the valley at the same time.


Shimonada Station

Shimonada Station is well known as a scenic station which is the closest to the sea. It has appeared in movies and TV dramas. And many tourists come to see this beautiful scenery at the time of train arrivals. I want to see it much longer!


Yasui Valley

It's the best view spot in Yasui valley. You can visit here more easily than others and the way to the falls is beautiful and full of minus ions.



Sakurai Futamigaura

Sakurai Futami-ga-ura seashore is a best abserving spot of the sun set in Fukuoka. You can see the meoto iwa (a pair of rocks like a hasband and wife) together with the setting sun.


Harajiri Falls

Harajiri waterfall is wide and locates in the mountains. The force changes as the water amount of the day, and if you stand above the fall, you can enjoy seeing the water falling down.


Tastunoshima Island

A small island Tatsunoshima is located at the northwest of Iki Island. The sea is so clear and there're strange rocks and cliffs around the island. You can enjoy overwhelming beauty of nature on a pleasure cruise.


Nanatsugama Caves

In Saga, Nanatsu-gama has lots of strange shaped basalt called columnar jointing. And there're seven sea caves literally as its name Nanatsu-gama (seven pots), you can see the great nature art that makes us feel something sacred.


Nabegataki Falls

Oguni-machi in Kumamoto, there's a waterfall named Nabe-ga Taki. The scene of water falling widely is like a white curtain, and creates a mysterious scenery. Furthermore, it's a rare waterfall that you can see the opposite side.


Takachiho Gorge

Takachiho area has many myths. Manai waterfall is very mysterious and popular spot. You can enjoy the nature surrounded by huge columnar joints at the valley.


Yakushima Island

Shirataniun suikyo valley in Yakushima is a model of a popular work of Studio Ghibli 'Princess Mononoke'. The moss grown forest is wrapped in a mysterious atmosphere.


Kumejima Island Hatenohama

Accessible from Kumejima Island by boat, an island with only white sandy beach is called Hatenohama. Correctly, there're three such islands, and you can see the emerald ocean and white sandy beach in all af your sight from the farthest one. Enjoy the sea of Okinawa to your heart content! By the way, they're so moving from the airplane.
